About the Artist

        I am a mostly self taught artist and photographer.  When I was little I would make gifts for my family out of pine cones and other things that I collected from my yard.   As I got older I began drawing with colored pencils and acrylic painting.   Through the desire to create bolder and more colorful art work, I began to explore photography to capture the spirit of a sunrise, a flower or an animal to paint.  By using visions from my imagination and photos, I create rich and vibrant art by air brushing and or acrylic painting.   I also make abstract works.

     

         My love of photography has inspired me to capture the magic of the subject and invoke people's emotions, and feelings. I hope my photos make people think about what true beauty is on this planet.  The subjects of my photos tell a story to be interpreted differently by everyone.   I reveal beauty and emotion in my works.   Each photograph or panting is a colorful symbol of a powerful experience or a dream to be remembered.
Artist Statement
      My work engages the realms of possibility and ingenuity.   It is a place where I am free from the constraints of this reality, and I am able to envision what may be.   I paint, draw and photograph subjects that interest me.  When a dream or experience creates a strong emotion, I channel the emotion on to a surface with a brush, pencil, or through the lens of my camera.

   I like the dramatic effects of color and light on a subject.    The idea of myths and legends in ancient history fascinate me.    My work tells a story that is interpreted differently by everyone, based on their own individual feelings and emotions.
